Nice look, but a bit fragile and tricky to set up
I have been using this item for awhile now, mainly in my living room next to the sofa, and overall it has been a mixed experience.The lamp looks nice once it’s fully put together. It adds a simple, clean look to the room and fits well in the corner without taking up too much space. The remote control is convenient and works well, which makes it easy to adjust the light without getting up. I also like having different light settings, depending on the mood or time of day. The foot switch is useful too. One thing to note is that the remote doesn’t come with batteries, so you’ll need to provide those.Putting it together required more patience than I expected. The instructions weren’t very detailed, so some steps felt confusing. Snapping the metal frame into the fabric wasn’t too bad, but connecting the Velcro strip to form the round shape was tricky and took some effort. Once everything was done, it looked good, but the lamp feels fragile, so I’m careful about where I place it and how I move it.The fabric shade is okay, but it feels more like stiff paper than soft fabric. I’m not sure how well it will hold up over time, and that’s something I’m still unsure about.As for the price, I personally feel it’s a bit high for what you get. Light works great but lamp shade and body velcro is not designed well
This lamp is an unfortunate disappointment. The light mechanism itself is the only positive about it and why I’m giving it two stars instead of one. The lamp shade and body are the primary problem. It’s impossible to get the lamp shade to stick (to the velcro on the other side of the shade) around the metal rings without part of the shade bending because it has to be stretched so much. It’s just cut slightly too short or the metal rings for the frame are just slightly too big. The body and shade are assembled using velcro strips sewed along the edge. The issue with the velcro is that it’s not very strong, and it takes quite a lot of pressing to get it to stay. You can also constantly hear the velcro pulling away from itself. I think it needs a redesign. One last issue is with the lampshade itself. It needs to be rolled the way it’ll be stuck together, otherwise it curls up on the corners of the edge where the velcro sticks. I’m afraid this mall is going to fall apart randomly when too much velcro has finally become undone.As to the light portion with the included remote, this is working great. It’s nice to use the remote to adjust the light with several types of light level settings— brightness level, color, timing it will stay on, etc.This lamp has quite a lot of potential. I really with the body and lampshade were more functional because it’s not worth the cost in its current form.
